Improve Assessments and Data

Rationale for This Objective:

​

Learning can be likened to navigating with a map; one must first know their current location to effectively reach their destination. This is particularly challenging given the age and developmental background of my students.

​

Actions I am Taking:

​

I will create more targeted instruction for students at all levels, reflecting diverse learning needs. This includes increased collaboration with service providers to integrate their perspectives, along with incorporating structured decompression periods to support student instruction, behavior strategies, and motivation for both students and staff. We have implemented "Fun Fridays" for students and a "Matcha Bar" for teachers. Furthermore, this initiative includes increasing family participation through weekly lessons, educational supports, and scheduled events within the classroom and community.

Assessing Goal Attainment:

Goal attainment is assessed through weekly IEP data collection, ARIS program lessons, functional checklists, and an informal preschool assessment, which is developed collaboratively by all staff and myself. My staff also conducts weekly DRDP data collection. Collectively, we conduct informal assessments, including behavior data collection, as necessary.

Maintaining Connectivity and Professional Growth:

​

I maintain connectivity through a weekly check-in with administration regarding target areas within my classroom. I actively participate in professional development conferences and coordinate with other professionals within my community. Additionally, I currently serve as the site representative for DSTA.
